"Save me / Late-ly / Ba-bies / Is cra-zy / Blame me / Naw, I'm just a product.. of the eigh-ties" - Fresh off the Block, C.H.A.D.
It takes C.ourage H.eart A.nd D.edication to get through the C.haos H.avoc A.nd D.estruction replies the Detroit native C.H.A.D. when asked the origin of his name. Hailing from the Motor City's poverty-stricken eastside it is easy to understand such reasoning and drive. Hip-Hop artist C.H.A.D. is a mix between Ice Cube, Ludacris, and Bun B (UGK).
Coming from an area where violence is as routine as the sunrise and sunset, C.H.A.D. only found it natural to describe and relate the ills of society through rap music. As an adolescent C.H.A.D. was forced to persevere through different homes almost yearly, violence, gangs, and drugs. Hence the inspiration in his name.
I'm straight no way / You hate no wait / I'm versatile / I mix it up / Bitch I can relate to a shake. - Cocaine, C.H.A.D.
Though negativity has ruled parts of his life it does not paint a full and accurate picture of C.H.A.D. His music is not one-dimensional much like the plethora of today's thug rappers. C.H.A.D.'s songs range from street life to good feeling music to social consciousness to everything in-between. C.H.A.D.'s music is rhythmically addictive, emotionally moving, and versatile. This versatility not only speaks to his song range but to his complex rhyme scheme.
What is a complex rhyme scheme? Add a little assonance mixed with a little consonance with a cup and a half of puns a pinch of alliteration all creatively simmered over strong diction and voilą, you have C.H.A.D.'s rap style. Unlike most rappers whose rap style is predictable C.H.A.D. constantly changes styles with ease much similar to an expert martial artist. His delivery combined with interconnected syllables many times resembles a jazz soloist freely playing with pizzazz and character.
My family's on my chest / my niggaz on my stomach / our motto's on my arm / to protect them is why these arms are in my palms. - No Love, C.H.A.D.
Sitting inches above C.H.A.D.'s heart etched is a large Africa outline surrounding the words, "DARK". This tattoo much like his other five tattoos have a family-oriented meaning . Though C.H.A.D.'s music is stylish and ruff he is still able to maintain what's important in life. Look forward to seeing C.H.A.D. make an impact in the rap world.
